Girls “Shabushabu!”
Me “OK! Lets Shabushabu tonight!”
This was the conversation we had that made me decide to take them to “Kinoko Shabushabu!”
(Shabushabu is supposed to be pork dish, that’s why this is a surprise for the girls to know that there is a such thing as kinoko Shabushabu! *Kinoko means Mashrooms XD)
I very often heard about Kinoko shabushabu little while ago but haven’t have a chance to experience it yet so I am sorry for the girls that I am kind of trapping them now but I am excited!
「Shangri-La’s secret」is the place! It’s the only Kinoko shabushabu place in Japan! (probably in the world too) Just a minute walk from Roppongi station!
It was chic and moody inside.
Me “Hey there is another girl who wants to join is for Kinoko shabushabu!”
Girls ”Yeyyyy! Invite her! The more the fun!”
Lets have a drink and appetizers while waiting for her then!
We all wonder how the dishes here are like since we have never seen a place like this, specializing Kinoko…..
We ordered 『Pirikara kikurage』(Pika spicy wood ear mushroom)
Even the appetizers all have some kinds of mashrooms
OK! The third girl arrived!
We have ordered 『Hou Jou Tai Hen』
as it was described as “the course in which you can enjoy all specialties of the house”
This was amazing! The texture of this thick mashroom is just like meat and the way of its juice coming out is also confused us like “isn’t this meat?”
As Kinoko is one of the most significant ingredients to produce soup stock, its rich flavor is making a grate match with coriander!
We are completely satisfied even before the main dish!
The soup is black and still boiling in the pod!
It says that this contains 30 different kinds of kinoko from a very specific area called ‘Shangri-La from Mountainous area’ in Un-nan-city of China.
And seems like we do Shabushabu other kinokos served separately into this soup! Complicated!!!!! I mean,,,,,, many many mashrooms!!!!!
I tasted the soup…. It’s a huge wow! The tastiness and rich and deep flavor is coming over again and again! Its real amazing!!! I have never tasted such a thing!!!
And… look at this Kinoko!!!!
Starting with Shimeji which was as tasty as we expected, bamboo fungus which gives out the soup flavor so much, Hanabiratake which has such a nice texture, all of them are soooooo good.
We put a pinch of red chili and coriander to enjoy the slightly different taste of soup.
Not just pieces of Shabushabu meat. They are all special!!
『Miou chicken』、『Japanese black beef』、『Sagami pork』
The girls who originally expected normal Shabushabu are even happier now! Lol
In the end of this main dish, we got noodle in the hotpod.
What a happy tammy!!!
It was a very nice dinner!!!
I know that I am coming back again!
I personally recommend ¬ion’s mane mushroom the best!
